Another Emmy nomination!
I’m delighted to announce that my score for Vietnam: The War That Changed America (for Apple TV) has been nominated for an Emmy in this year’s News & Documentary Emmy Awards. It’s a real thrill to get a nomination, especially for such a great project. The series has also been nominated for Best Historical Documentary and Best Director, and is in the running for a couple of BAFTA Awards as well. Thanks to director Rob Coldstream, series producer Caroline Marsden and 72 Films for bringing me on board. A huge thank you to Mark Russell for his invaluable assistance and additional music on the series. Thanks also to Nick Holland and Flora Curzon for their fabulous playing on the score and Steve Hickling for additional sound design. If you haven’t seen the series, narrated by Ethan Hawke, it’s well worth checking out, unveiling new footage and new perspectives on the conflict, fifty years after it ended.
This is my fourth Emmy nomination, after 9/11: One Day in America (for National Geographic), WWII: From The Frontlines (for Netflix – which won!), and – MANY years ago now – the theme tune for The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That! (at the Daytime Emmys).
