Bafta & Emmy Wins 2025
I’m delighted to share the news that several shows I wrote the music for have picked up awards at the Emmys and the BAFTAs this year.
Ukraine: Enemy in the Woods (BBC) – an extraordinary film about the Berlingo regiment fighting off Russian advances in Eastern Ukraine – won Best Single Documentary at this year’s BAFTA Awards.
Tsunami: Race Against Time (National Geographic) picked up the award for Outstanding Historical Documentary at the Documentary Emmys.
Also at the Emmys:
The Truth vs Alex Jones (HBO) won for Outstanding Crime and Justice Documentary.
Buy Now! The Shopping Conspiracy (Netflix) picked up the win for best Outstanding Business and Economic Documentary.
Finally, In Vogue: The 90s received a nomination in the best Factual Entertainment category at the BAFTAs but we didn’t win that one!
It has been such a privilege to be a part of all these fantastic projects, so different in tone but all powerful and beautifully produced films. I get to work with some incredible film-makers. And while it fantastic to get personal awards for the music like the win last year for WW2: From the Frontlines, I am (very nearly!) as proud of awards and nominations for the shows themselves. Alongside the directing, editing, camera, sound as well as many unsung heroes of TV production – the score is always such a critical part of any film or tv show, so I always feel huge satisfaction when a show gets recognised by our peers in the industry.
