[3 x 2 min, BBC2, 2005] A series of songs outlining party policy on various issues in the run-up to the 2005 UK General Election.

I wrote this series of songs for the BBC’s Newsnight programme in early 2005 They were broadcast on consecutive nights in the run-up to the General Election (which was on May 5th 2005), with animation by Rubberductions.

I used to work on quite a lot of projects like this, which involved absolutely tons of research to make a song that was over in the blink of an eye. Bit of an acquired taste too! But I do still love writing lyrics about surprising subjects, which cram in loads of facts, ArtSongs & The Luckiest Nut in the World being two of the examples I’m most proud of.
