This was my first collaboration with Eva Weber and Sam Zarzosa. Developed in partnership with the NFTS Advanced Programme, it is an interesting film, and a great concept.
You used to have to make an effort to overhear other people’s conversations, now you have to make an effort not to. The Intimacy of Strangers is a story of life, love, loss and hope – told entirely through overheard mobile phone conversations of random strangers.
The music combines traditional elements (the violin & cello were played by the talented sisters, Harriet & Alice Murray) with more electronic elements. Here is the opening of the film:
