SUNNY INTERVALS AND SHOWERS
when everything starts to bring me down
i take the motorway out of town
to fix the trouble in my mind
there are people trying to call me back
but i’m heading off the beaten track
it’s time to leave it all behind
i don’t look at the road map
and i don’t read the signs
i just keep on following those dotted white linespassing other drivers by
i don’t notice them cos i’ve
been on the road for hours
and in an echo of my thoughts
the weatherman reports
sunny intervals and showerslately i’ve not been feeling right
i find it hard to get to sleep at night
when the road is calling out to me
i can’t help it even though i know
i should forget it i should let it go
i click the seatbelt and turn the key
i don’t need a road map
i don’t need signs
just keep on following those dotted white linesother drivers pass me by
they don’t notice me but i’ve
been on the road for hours
i couldn’t tell you where i’ve been
all i know is that i’ve seen
sunny intervals and showers
and i’ve been on the road for hours
